A few weeks ago I shared this post on my friend Kim's blog, The Resourceful Mama. Today I am sharing with you this thrifty and fun kids art project that my girls and I worked on. This project costs about $1.50, depending on if you have to buy paint or not. I love it when projects don't break the bank.
During the summer I let my girls pick out some art projects to work on. They always see me painting and wanted to do a project for themselves. We found these little votive holders at a yard sale and my girls asked if they could decorate them. I thought it would be a fun project, so I got out my many paints.

My older daughter decided to use the cotton swabs and the paintbrushes to decorate her votive. She made ladybugs and leaves.
My girls looked like they were having so much fun that I joined in and made one too! I used brightly colored paints and made the dots with the ends of cotton swabs.
