Who doesn't love a warm bowl of delicious potato soup? It's pretty great made with potatoes, broth, and some seasonings. When you add a few good tasting extras, it makes your soup even better.
The idea for a Potato Soup Bar came about a few years ago. When I would make my Delicious Potato Soup, when serving the soup up I would garnish it with lots of toppings. My kids didn't always like what I added, so to make meal times easier, I began to serve our soup this way. We are able to add what we want and skip what we don't.
Start with your favorite Potato Soup recipe. A few months ago I shared the recipe that I use. You can find my Delicious Potato Soup recipe here.
Now it's time to prepare the tasty add-ins. What you offer will depend on your family. That's why I love this idea, you can have as many or as little options as you like!
Cheese - shredded
Green Onions - sliced in rounds
Bacon - cooked and crumbled
Broccoli - steamed
Ham - cubed
Peas - thawed but not cooked
Kielbasa - cut into rounds and cooked
There are so many possibilities for add-ins with potato soup. Pick the ones you like and set up a bar.
Start with your soup, add the toppings you want, then enjoy!
Any way you fix your potato soup, it will be a tasty dinner.
